Disney Imagineer’s are bringing a whole new land to Animal Kingdom in 2017! Hopefully, many of you may know or at least you should if you are a Disney fanatic like myself! Pandora: The World of Avatar will be based on the film series Avatar.
Construction began on this project in January 2014 and the land is expected to be open to the public in early 2017!
Guests will experience the wonders of Pandora when they fly with banshees and explore a rich natural environment with mountains that float and interactive plants that glow at night.
Avatar Land is spans several acres and will feature multiple rides and attractions, entertainment, audio-animatronics, 3-D holograms, as well as retail, food and beverage outlets! Avatar Land is being built in the former locations of Camp Minnie-Mickey. Camp Minnie-Mickey was originally supposed to be the location of Beastly Kingdom, which was supposed to be a themed land based on mythological creatures. So I guess the theme of Avatar Land will be hitting the mythological theme right on the nail!! Take a look at some construction photos that have taken place over the past year or so.
