After Hours at the Magic Kingdom?

First off, let me just explain to  you how much more amazing the park is at night. The amazing lights showcase all of the attractions and really transport you into the world of yesterday, today and tomorrow! Visiting the Magic Kingdom at night is always on my to-do list when I visit the Walt Disney World Resort! And now there is a even more unique way to experience the Magic Kingdom at night!

Disney is introducing a new nighttime experience called “Disney After Hours”. This will be a special ticketed event, kind of like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Guests will be able to enjoy exclusive time in the park with quicker than typical access to popular attractions like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Guests will also get to experience one of a kind character greetings at Town Square and Princess Fairytale Hall. Ice cream novelties and bottled beverages will be available for guests during the three-hour event.

Disney After Hours will only take place on certain nights in April and May of 2016. Those nights are April 14, 21, 28 and May 5, 8, 12, 19. Guests must purchase a separate ticket to take part in this event. Tickets cost $149 for adults and children. Guests can check-in starting at 7pm each night and the park will close to all guests without tickets at 11pm. Disney After Hours will take place from 11pm to 2am each night. Admission is limited!

Now for my Opinion on the Matter

At first I thought that is an awesome idea! You get to pay a little extra to come into the park after hours! I’ve been to the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and I loved the fact that there are only a certain amount of people in the park while you are there. Disney After Hours would be the same thing, only a certain amount of tickets will be sold so you pretty much would have the park with less than half the normal crowd level.

During the “Party” nights, only ticket guests are allowed in the park from 7pm to 12pm. Special Event ticket guests are also allowed to check-in at 4pm, giving you a total of 8 hours in the park for about $80 a person. You are also given certain snacks and beverages at these parties as well. With the Disney After Hours you are getting 7 hours of park time with your ticket, complimentary ice cream novelties and bottled drinks. But you are paying more! Why are we paying more to come into the park for less time than the parties? I mean I know it’s only one more hour but that’s a  $70 difference in ticket price! AND with the parties there is a child’s price difference but with the Disney After Hours each person pays the same amount!

I get it, you’re paying to have the feeling like you have the park to yourself. Believe me, I loved that feeling during the Christmas Party but I’m not going to pay an extra $70 for less time. Why do we need to pay extra? Drinks and ice cream novelties can’t be that expensive? If you plan your trip out accordingly you will be able to accomplish everything on your to-do list and the best part about that is YOU WOULDN’T HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY!

Remember, this is my personal opinion! Also, if you do spend this ridiculous amount of money for Disney After Hours I would really like to know how it goes! Also, I would love to hear anyone else’s opinion about Disney After Hours!

5 Ways to Save Money on Food at Walt Disney World!

Anyone out there will agree that dining at Disney isn’t cheap! The first thing that comes to mind is, just save money for it! But, there are some ways to help cut the cost of your dining budget at Walt Disney World!

~#5 Plan to eat at least ONE meal in your hotel room~

This is something that my family has done for every trip that we take. We usually bring with us some quick-to-eat breakfast food to eat in the hotel room ass everyone is getting ready for the day. If you are flying to Disney and don’t want to take a taxi to the grocery store, there are a few grocery delivery companies in the area that will deliver your food to your hotel or resort for you.

~#4 Bring snacks and drinks into the parks!~

Some people may not know that you are in fact allowed to bring snacks and drinks into the parks with you. My family usually brings some single serve bags of chips, cookies and sweets in our backpack to the parks. We also bring a few water bottles and gatorades with us as well. Also, during the summer months I would suggest freezing a water bottle and bringing into the parks and filling it up with fountain water as the ice melts. You are even allowed to bring in small sandwiches and lunchables. Just be prepared to go through security with your bag when you enter the park.

~#3 Share Meals~

Several Quick Service dining locations in the parks and resorts serve fairly large combo meals that could be shared with another family member. Also, adults are allowed to purchase kids combo meals at any quick service location on property. Getting a kids meals verses a regular combo meal well cut the price of the meal in half! Plus, the proportions aren’t that much of a difference.

~#2 Eating Some Meals Off-Property~

What most people don’t realize is that you can leave Walt Disney World Property and go and eat at the restaurants around the Orlando area. This may be harder for those that have flown into Orlando because you will have to get a taxi in order to go eat. Some of the restaurants around town are specific to the area and are worth to take a look at. Plus, you are almost guaranteed to save money when you eat outside the parks.

~#1 Purchasing a Dining Plan~

If you are like me and enjoy eating at the highly themed restaurants on property, getting a Dining Plan might just be the best option for  you. Depending on how many are in your party and what their ages are you will usually save money by choosing a Dining Plan. Even if you go with the quick service plan you will save money on your meals. Just remember a Dining Plan is not for everyone. It may end up costing you more or less if you purchase a Dining Plan.

If you have any more suggestions on how to save money on food, please feel free to comment below! Also, if you have any questions about the suggestions that I have made or any questions that you have concerning what is allowed in the parks; please feel free to contact me today!

Planning your September 2016 Walt Disney World Vacation!

HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS AND INFORMATION FOR VACATIONERS THAT ARE LOOKING INTO VISITING THE WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT DURING THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER!

The top three questions that everyone always asks is; how’s the weather, is it crowded and how much will it cost me? Well keep reading because I’m about to tell you!

During the month of September you can expect a very low crowd level! Yup that’s right! September is known to be one of the slowest months of year for the simple fact that the all of the kids are now back in school. September also has the cheaper ticket prices and room rates. I would  still suggest staying at a resort with a nice pool to take advantage of during the middle of the day when it is the hottest! It will not start to cool down in central Florida until November and even then it’s still hot!

Events Happening in September!

September starts the fall season at Disney World. During this month you will start to see the Halloween and Thanksgiving decorations going up around the parks. Towards the end of the month the Magic Kingdom will start having the Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Parties! They are known to be a lot of fun plus you get a lot of candy! You also get to dress up as your favorite character! To find out more about Mickey’s No So Scary Halloween Party, click here!

If you are a Christian Music fan, every year Disney hosts the Night of Joy during the month of September. This year for the first time ever the concert series will be held at the ESPN Wide World of Sports complex. This year the concert will be held on September 9th & 10th. To find out more information about Night of Joy, click here.

Ride & Attraction Refurbishments, Closings and Openings!

Besides the major construction that will be going on at Hollywood Studios, there are not any scheduled refurbishments at this time. Hopefully (crossing my fingers) by this time Soarin’ and the new Frozen ride at EPCOT will be open and guests will be able to enjoy these new attractions! For the up-to-date refurbishment schedule, click here.

Dining and FastPass+ Reservations!

If you are planing on getting your first choice for advanced dining reservations you will need to book your reservations by March, which will be your 180 day mark. Also, if you are staying on property you can reserve your FastPass+ 60 days before your arrival date. Your 60-Days out date will be in July! For more information on FastPass+ and how all of that works, Click Here! For more information on Disney’s Dining Plans, Click Here!

Promotions and Offers!

The Promotions and Offers for the Fall will not be out until late Spring. Think April or May! Last year Disney offered the FREE Dining Plan for a minimum stay at select Disney Resorts. EVERYONE is hoping they will do something like this again, including me! So make sure to come back around April or May when I update this post with the Promotions and Offers for Fall! You can also click here and check out all of the available Promotions and Offers that become available throughout the year!

Let’s Do the Math!

Want to get an idea of how much your vacation would cost for you to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during the month of September? Take a look at the following scenarios!

The first family on our list is visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during Memorial Day Weekend. They will be staying 6-Days and 5-Nights at Disney’s Pop Century Resort. They have chosen to upgrade their ticket with the Park Hopper option but are still on the fence about the Dining Plan. Their vacation total without the Dining Plan is $2,364.62. With the Dining Plan their vacation total would be $3,230.12.

The second family on our list is spending a week at the Walt Disney World Resort and they are bringing along with them Mom, Dad, the grandparents and two kids! They will be staying at Disney’s Art of Animation in a Cars Family Suite! They have chosen to go with the Base Ticket option and not get a Dining Plan at this time. Their vacation total is $4,147.76.

The last family on our list will be taking a quick trip to Disney World. They will be staying 5-Nights and 4-Days at the Wilderness Lodge in a bunk-bed room! They are upgrading their tickets to a Park Hopper and are getting the Dining Plan. Their vacation total is $4,355.42.

I hope the information that I have provided will help those out that are looking to visit the Walt Disney World Resort in July 2016. If you have any additional questions that were not answered in this post, please ask away!

THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME AND I LOOK FORWARD TO HEARING FROM YOU!

Planning Your August 2016 Walt Disney World Vacation!

HERE ARE SOME HELPFUL TIPS AND INFORMATION FOR VACATIONERS THAT ARE LOOKING INTO VISITING THE WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT DURING THE MONTH OF AUGUST!

The top three questions that everyone always asks is; how’s the weather, is it crowded and how much will it cost me? Well keep reading because I’m about to tell you!

During the month of August you can expect to experience heavy crowd levels and very hot temperatures! I would suggest staying at a resort with a nice pool to take advantage of during the middle of the day when it is the hottest!

Events Happening in August!

There really isn’t a whole lot going on in August at Disney World. Towards the end of the month you may start seeing some fall decorations as the parks get ready to celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving. But since there are not any holidays during the month of August there really isn’t anything going on. Also, towards the end of the month the crowd levels will start to go down since kids will be starting to go back to school around this time. For more information about the events that take place at Walt Disney World, Click Here!

How’s the Weather?

The weather for all of August will still be pretty hot. According to the National Weather Channel, the average low for Central Florida is 74 and the high is 94. But I would expect it to get into the high 90’s and 100’s at some points. Also, be prepare yourself for an afternoon shower at least once or twice a week. They will most likely not be the thunder and lighting extremes but they will but a damper on your day. So bring your rain gear! Pack the sunscreen as well! It’s still summer weather and you will get burnt!

If you get too hot there are plenty of indoor attractions and pools all throughout the Walt Disney World Resort to keep you cool as you and your family enjoy your vacation!

If you are planing on getting your first choice for advanced dining reservations you will need to book your reservations by February, which will be your 180 day mark. Also, if you are staying on property you can reserve your FastPass+ 60 days before your arrival date. Your 60-Days out date will be in June! Planning Your July 2016 Walt Disney World Vacation!

Here are some helpful tips and information for vacationers that are looking into visiting the Walt Disney World Resort during the month of July!

The top three questions that everyone always asks is; how’s the weather, is it crowded and how much will it cost me? Well keep reading because I’m about to tell you!

During the month of July you can expect to experience heavy crowd levels and very hot temperatures! I would suggest staying at a resort with a nice pool to take advantage of during the middle of the day when it is the hottest!

Events Happening in July!

It’s pretty much a no brain-er as to what I’m about to mention. If you are from the States you know that during the month of July one of our Nation’s important holidays is July 4th. Disney does go all out with their fireworks for the 4th of July. You can catch themed fireworks at the Magic Kingdom and EPCOT. Disney is not the only Orlando park that has a July 4th specific firework show, so if the crowds are too much for you at Disney check out the other Orlando attractions!

As of now, any other summer events have not been released. But when they are you can find out all the information you need Right Here!

How’s the Weather?

The weather for all of July will be, yup you guessed it, HOT! According to the National Weather Channel, the average low for Central Florida is 74 and the high is 94. But I would expect it to get into the high 90’s and 100’s at some points. Also, be aware that during this time of year afternoon showers and thunderstorms are more than likely to make an appearance anytime from 2:00 pm until the evening hours. So bring your rain gear! Pack the sunscreen as well!

If you get too hot there are plenty of indoor attractions and pools all throughout the Walt Disney World Resort to keep you cool as you and your family enjoy your vacation!

Ride & Attraction Refurbishments, Closings and Openings!

The only ride that looks to be closed during July will be Soarin’. But, all of the Disney sources say that it will be opened back up by Summer 2016! So who knows you could be part of a soft opening or grand re-opening for Soarin’! Also, the Frozen Ever After ride is rumored to be opening in the Summer of 2016. The Pelekai Family is bearing the crowds and is attempting to go to Disney for the 4th of July. They will be staying 6-nights and 5-days at Disney’s All-Star Movies. They have chosen to add the Park Hopper option to their tickets because of the heavy crowds that they are going to endure during their vacation. Their vacation total comes out to be $2,672.60. If they book by June 10, 2016 they would qualify for the Awaken Summer Offer which would bring their vacation total to $2,566.90! That’s $105.70 is savings! It’s not much but that’s $100 less than they would originally have to pay!

Another family of four is not going to Disney for the 4th of July. They will be staying at the one of Disney’s Moderate Resorts two weeks after the 4th of July. They will be staying at Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort for 6-nights and 5-days and they have chosen to add the Park Hopper option to their ticket. They have also decided to add the Memory Maker to their package to make sure they get all of the Family Reunion pictures that they take while on vacation! Their vacation total is $6,060.80. If they book by June 10, 2016 they will qualify for the Awaken Summer Offer which would bring their vacation total to $5,625.48! That’s a savings of $435.32! WOW!
