Planning Your August 2016 Walt Disney World Vacation!

The top three questions that everyone always asks is; how’s the weather, is it crowded and how much will it cost me? Well keep reading because I’m about to tell you!

During the month of August you can expect to experience heavy crowd levels and very hot temperatures! I would suggest staying at a resort with a nice pool to take advantage of during the middle of the day when it is the hottest!

Events Happening in August!

There really isn’t a whole lot going on in August at Disney World. Towards the end of the month you may start seeing some fall decorations as the parks get ready to celebrate Halloween and Thanksgiving. But since there are not any holidays during the month of August there really isn’t anything going on. Also, towards the end of the month the crowd levels will start to go down since kids will be starting to go back to school around this time. How’s the Weather?

The weather for all of August will still be pretty hot. According to the National Weather Channel, the average low for Central Florida is 74 and the high is 94. But I would expect it to get into the high 90’s and 100’s at some points. Also, be prepare yourself for an afternoon shower at least once or twice a week. They will most likely not be the thunder and lighting extremes but they will but a damper on your day. So bring your rain gear! Pack the sunscreen as well! It’s still summer weather and you will get burnt!

If you get too hot there are plenty of indoor attractions and pools all throughout the Walt Disney World Resort to keep you cool as you and your family enjoy your vacation!

Ride & Attraction Refurbishments, Closings and Openings!

Besides the major construction that will be going on at Hollywood Studios, there are not any scheduled refurbishments at this time. Hopefully (crossing my fingers) by this time Soarin’ and the new Frozen ride at EPCOT will be open and guests will be able to enjoy these new attractions! Dining and FastPass+ Reservations!

If you are planing on getting your first choice for advanced dining reservations you will need to book your reservations by February, which will be your 180 day mark. Also, if you are staying on property you can reserve your FastPass+ 60 days before your arrival date. Your 60-Days out date will be in June! Let’s Do the Math!

Want to get an idea of how much your vacation would cost for you to visit the Walt Disney World Resort during the month of August? Take a look at the following scenarios!

A family of four is taking their vacation during the first week of August right before school starts. They will be staying 6-Nights and 5-Days at Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort. They have opted to not get a park hopper or a meal plan. If they book their vacation before June 10, 2016 they will qualify for the Summer Kid-Sized Offer which will bring their vacation total to $2,242.20!

Another family of four is making a last minute trip to Disney World before school starts. They are taking a long weekend and are staying 6-Days and 5-Nights at Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort. They have chosen to upgrade their tickets with the Park Hopper option but have chosen not to do the Dining Plan this time. They also qualify for the Summer Kid-Size Offer which brings their vacation total to $2,531.48.

The last family on our list will also be taking along weekend to experience the Walt Disney World Resort. They will be staying 6-Days and 5-Nights at the BoardWalk Inn. They have chosen to upgrade to the Park Hopper ticket and have chosen to go with the Dining Plan as their meal plan. They qualify for the Awaken Summer Offer if they book by June 10, 2016. If they make the booking deadline their vacation total will be $4,768.64.
