After Hours at the Magic Kingdom?

First off, let me just explain to  you how much more amazing the park is at night. The amazing lights showcase all of the attractions and really transport you into the world of yesterday, today and tomorrow! Visiting the Magic Kingdom at night is always on my to-do list when I visit the Walt Disney World Resort! And now there is a even more unique way to experience the Magic Kingdom at night!

Disney is introducing a new nighttime experience called “Disney After Hours”. This will be a special ticketed event, kind of like Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party and Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. Guests will be able to enjoy exclusive time in the park with quicker than typical access to popular attractions like the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. Guests will also get to experience one of a kind character greetings at Town Square and Princess Fairytale Hall. Ice cream novelties and bottled beverages will be available for guests during the three-hour event.

Disney After Hours will only take place on certain nights in April and May of 2016. Those nights are April 14, 21, 28 and May 5, 8, 12, 19. Guests must purchase a separate ticket to take part in this event. Tickets cost $149 for adults and children. Guests can check-in starting at 7pm each night and the park will close to all guests without tickets at 11pm. Disney After Hours will take place from 11pm to 2am each night. Admission is limited!

Now for my Opinion on the Matter

At first I thought that is an awesome idea! You get to pay a little extra to come into the park after hours! I’ve been to the Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and I loved the fact that there are only a certain amount of people in the park while you are there. Disney After Hours would be the same thing, only a certain amount of tickets will be sold so you pretty much would have the park with less than half the normal crowd level.

During the “Party” nights, only ticket guests are allowed in the park from 7pm to 12pm. Special Event ticket guests are also allowed to check-in at 4pm, giving you a total of 8 hours in the park for about $80 a person. You are also given certain snacks and beverages at these parties as well. With the Disney After Hours you are getting 7 hours of park time with your ticket, complimentary ice cream novelties and bottled drinks. But you are paying more! Why are we paying more to come into the park for less time than the parties? I mean I know it’s only one more hour but that’s a  $70 difference in ticket price! AND with the parties there is a child’s price difference but with the Disney After Hours each person pays the same amount!

I get it, you’re paying to have the feeling like you have the park to yourself. Believe me, I loved that feeling during the Christmas Party but I’m not going to pay an extra $70 for less time. Why do we need to pay extra? Drinks and ice cream novelties can’t be that expensive? If you plan your trip out accordingly you will be able to accomplish everything on your to-do list and the best part about that is YOU WOULDN’T HAVE TO PAY MORE MONEY!

Remember, this is my personal opinion! Also, if you do spend this ridiculous amount of money for Disney After Hours I would really like to know how it goes! Also, I would love to hear anyone else’s opinion about Disney After Hours!
