Epcot Tips From a Disney Veteran

Future World

Just past Spaceship Earth, the big golf ball, on the right you will find Epcot Character Spot. If you get there when the park opens you’ll get to see Mickey, Minnie and Goofy. If you wait until later in the day the line can get long, but it is in the Air Condition so it is a great way to cool off.

Club Cool is a freebie that’s in the back of Innovations West, behind the Starbucks. At Club Cool you can taste all different flavors of coke’ cola from different countries.

Innovations West has an overlooked attraction call Sum of a Thrills where you can design your own 3D coaster and ride it!

The Seas with Nemo and Friends has one of the largest salt water aquariums in the world!

If you are prone to motion sickness you can choose the not so intense version of Mission Space and still enjoy the ride with your family!

World Showcase

Take the time to explore all of the pavilions in the World Showcase. The hidden gems are always tucked away in the back just waiting to be explored!

Did you know that you can walk from Epcot to Hollywood Studios? Epcot has a rear entrance located between France and the United Kingdom pavilions. This rear entrance takes you to the Beach Club Resort, Board Walk, and Swan and Dolphin Resort. If you keep walking past the Swan and Dolphin you will eventually end up and Hollywood Studios.

There are a lot of Character Meet and Greet Locations all throughout World Showcase. Check the Times Guide to see who is meeting where and at what times!

Each country’s pavilion is the same width to give all of the countries equality.

La Cava del Tequila in Mexico has over 200 tequila’s in its cellar.

There is a short boat ride in the Mexico pavilion called Grand Fiesta Tour Starring the Three Caballeros.

Akershus Royal Banquet Hall is located in the Norway pavilion.

Soon a new Frozen Forever ride will open in the Norway pavilion where Malestrom used to be. There will also be a separate meet and greet location for Anna and Elsa between the Mexico and Norway pavilions.

If you buy a parasol in China, you can have it personalized for free with your name in traditional Chinese writing.

In Germany, check out the big clock. On the hour a wooden boy or girl will pop out and twirl around for a bit and then go back inside.

In Germany is also where you can get on and off the water taxi that goes across the World Showcase Lagoon.

In Japan, you can select an oyster out of a tank and they will shuck the oyster right in front of you to reveal if it has a pearl in it or not. If the oyster does have a pearl in it you get to keep it! Once you have enough pearls, you can have them set into a pair of earrings or a necklace.

If you look across World Showcase Lagoon from either Showcase Plaza or the Mexico pavilion you can see the Morocco pavilion. Next time take a closer look at the buildings and try and see if you notice anything odd. You can see the Tower of Terror from Epcot! Disney imagineers had to design the Tower of Terror to match the color scheme of the buildings in the Morocco pavilion so that it didn’t stick out like a sore thumb. Make sure to take a close look next time. Have a look for yourself!

Only one of the Totem poles in Canada is real, try and figure it out!
