February 2017 Walt Disney World Vacation!

Here’s a little tip out there for the ones that live in the following three states; Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama! If you live in one of these three states chances are you have some off days for Mardi Gras! Some of you may use these days to in fact celebrate Mardi Gras but some of you may just use them as a day off. If you have kids chances are they have those days off from school if not that whole week! Has the thought of taking a vacation during these holidays ever crossed your mind? Well let me let you in on a little secret!

THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY HAS SOME OF THE LOWEST CROWD LEVELS AT WALT DISNEY WORLD!

AND to make things even better, during the month of February you’ll find some of the lowest room rates and ticket prices as well!

The dates for Mardi Gras 2017 are Monday February 27th and Tuesday February 28th!

Why is February one of the best times to visit Walt Disney World? Well, for one all of the schools in the States are back in session so not that many families are going on vacation during this time of the year. They will have either gone during Thanksgiving or Christmas or are planning to go during Spring Break or the Summer. The second thing that makes February a great time to visit Disney World is the ticket prices and room rates. February is considered Value season, meaning because there are less families visiting the parks the ticket prices and room rates go down!

The only con for visiting Disney during February is that Disney uses this down time to update their more popular rides and water parks. Which means you may not be able to ride some of the rides that you had wanted to. For the most up to date information on attraction refurbishments, click here!

If you think that you might be interested in planning a trip during the Mardi Gras holidays or the month of February then NOW is the TIME! August is the 180th day mark! Meaning that during the month of August advanced dining reservations opens up to those that have vacations booked during the month of February! EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival

Every year, sometime in March through May,Walt Disney World puts on EPCOT’s International Flower & Garden Festival. EPCOT is always beautifully landscaped but the amazing Disney Magic truly shines during this festival. Exquisite plantings, topiary’s of your favorite Disney characters and specially themed gardens as well as gardening tips and weekend concerts are some of the many amazing things that you can experience while attending the Flower & Garden Festival.

Go on over to the Walt Disney World Website to get the official dates and schedule for the EPCOT International Flower & Garden Festival.

Besides all of the beautifully designed topiaries that are placed throughout Future World and World Showcase, you can also enjoy the Outdoor Kitchen Booths. Similar to the pop up stands for the Food & Wine Festival, these booths are all around World Showcase and feature small serving plates of goods as well as interesting drinks from all of the different countries. (Hints International Festival).

Each weekend during the Flower & Garden Festival you can attend “hands-on presentations” and “demonstrations” for select gardening tips. Also, each Friday, Saturday and Sunday night during the Flower & Garden Festival you can catch some amazing singers and bands at the America Gardens Theater. You can find a complete schedule of the Garden Rocks Concert Series on the Walt Disney World Website.

Just like any special event that goes on at Walt Disney World, crowds impact how much you enjoy yourself. The Flower & Garden and Food & Wine Festivals bring in fairly large local crowds to these invents, especially on the weekends. If you are interested in seeing the Garden Rocks Concerts plan to get there early to get your spot and enjoy some of the foods. But if you are just going to see the displays and enjoy some food, go during the week!

EPCOT INTERNATIONAL FLOWER & GARDEN FESTIVAL EXPANDS TO 90 DAYS IN 2016

Celebrating its 23rd year, the Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival returns to Walt Disney World Resort March 2-May 30, 2016, expanding from 75 days to 90 days.

From fresh farm market flavors at the festival’s Outdoor Kitchens and new Disney character topiaries to interactive play gardens and live rockin’ music, this annual event will shower your family with spring surprises.

Donald Duck’s mischievous nephews, Huey, Dewey and Louie, will make their topiary debut with Donald and Daisy at the park’s front entrance garden. Plus, in celebration of the National Parks Service Centennial, Ranger Mickey Mouse, in topiary form, will make his first appearance.

Savory bites and sweet treats will be abundant at the festival’s Outdoor Kitchens, returning for a fourth year with Guest favorites and new food and beverage offerings. And, when they’re not noshing along the World Showcase promenade, you can dig in for a hands-on experience during Disney-led gardening seminars or grab a seat for pop musical performances during the Garden Rocks concert series at the outdoor America Gardens Theatre.

A Disney Christmas: They’re Here! Our MagicBands are Here!

I got our MagicBands in the mail yesterday!!! I am beyond excited! This will be our first trip since Disney introduced the MagicBands! In case you don’t know what they are, the MagicBands have replaced your hard tickets! Meaning, that you no longer have to have a hard plastic ticket to get into your hotel room or inside the parks. You just put the Mickey head up to the device reader and wait until it turns green and you’re good to go! I will be posting videos on how all of this works once I get back from our trip! In case you were wondering my MagicBand is the pink one! I wanted to get a red one but I didn’t want my mom and I to get ours mixed up, even though they do have our names on the inside! Ha!

Also, I am going to be adding some fun vinyl images to our MagicBands! I haven’t decided what exactly I’m going to put on them but maybe our names and I know I want to do something with Minnie or Christmas but I haven’t decided yet! There are just so many options! But I will post my designs when I do decide what to put on my MagicBand! I may even put some Alabama stuff on there, Roll Tide!

I wish I would have known how to get one of these MagicBands! They also have a store inside the Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland or at Disney Springs where you can customized your MagicBand. I just might be stopping inside one of those stores!

There are so many Christmas items that I have been looking at online at the Disney Store that I would LOVE to get while I’m down there! I wish we still had our Disney Store in the mall here in Mobile. The closest store that I can go to is in Gulfport, Mississippi and that is an hour away! But Black Friday is coming up and I think that my mom and I are planing to do some clothes shopping for our trip over at the Gulfport Outlets so we’ll just have to see if we can make a quick stop inside the Disney Store! (We ALWAYS do when we go over there!) If we do go to the Gulfport Outlets I will post a Disney Store HAUL post to show you what all we picked up!

24 Days to go!
